Kord is a redesigned beginner guitar aid based on an existing product, Chord Buddy. I began by analyzing user pain points through customer reviews, then defined clear redesign goals focused on usability, sound quality, and learnability.

 

I reworked the internal mechanism to add an additional chord, improve string contact, and create a smoother transition from assisted play to a real guitar. Through multiple rounds of CAD modeling, 3D printing, hardware integration, and physical testing, I iterated on form and function until the device performed reliably and felt intuitive to use.
