This project explored how abstract qualities can be expressed through form. Assigned the word “strong,” I designed a clock that communicates strength through proportion, weight, and restraint. Early sketches and foam models focused on tall, monolithic forms with sharp angles and a grounded base.

 

The final design features a tapered vertical silhouette, minimal detailing, and a stark black finish with subtle contrast between matte and gloss surfaces. Strength is conveyed not through excess, but through balance, mass, and quiet confidence resulting in an object that feels stable, intentional, and enduring.
